Alabama changed how sales tax applies to credit-card surcharges
Another September 1 change affects purchases statewide. A separately stated credit-card transaction fee, processing fee or convenience fee is no longer subject to Alabama sales or use tax. If a merchant combines the fee into one total instead of showing it separately, however, tax can still apply to the entire amount. Madison consumers may want to glance at receipts, while local businesses that charge card fees should make sure their point-of-sale systems itemize them correctly. [Read More]

Twin Peaks, Huntsville |
Twin Peaks is a sports bar on University Drive near Research Park Boulevard and Highway 72. The restaurant is built around game-day food, wall-to-wall TVs and beer served at 29 degrees. For readers looking for a football Saturday spot, UFC night or an easy place to meet for drinks and food, this one is made for watching something while you eat.
First time... order for the table. Wings are the obvious call, especially if you want to compare sauces. Add chicken tenders, tacos or a burger if you are going during a game and plan to sit for a while. This is also a great place for fantasy football drafts, watch parties and group meetups since the Huntsville location lists event space and party booking.
Expect a loud room, lots of screens and a sports-bar setup that knows exactly what it is. This is not the quiet dinner choice. It is the place to go when the game is part of the plan. And guess what... College Football is back.

You Need Great Healthy Snacks... |
I just had to pull mine out from the cabinet because I wanted to make some dried fish. Yep, probably not for you but I remember when my kids were younger, we'd put apples and other fruits in the dehydrator and take it with us on road drips or snack for when played soccer. Everyone's gotta have one of these. There is just so much other stuff that they are adding to the dried fruits that you get at the store. I can't wait to hear my other half scream... WTH is that smell!
