Madison City Schools has released a new rezoning option, Option 5, in response to feedback from the community.

This plan aims to balance student diversity and reduce overcrowding in certain schools.

Option 5 would move students between elementary, middle and high schools in Madison, AL.

The school district is seeking input and feedback from parents and stakeholders before making a final decision on the rezoning plan.

Alabama’s new FOCUS Act will reshape how Madison public schools approach technology starting in the 2025–2026 school year.

The law aims to reduce classroom distractions and promote deeper student engagement.

Students must keep smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds and gaming devices powered off and stored away during all instructional hours. Violations could lead to warnings or suspension.
