Where to Look for Jobs in Madison
Start with looking at Job Boards like Indeed. Businesses often look to post their positions here.

Facebook or other social networks often have groups and communities that allow for businesses to post their opportunities there. Look there too.

Government jobs and city positions are posted regularly on the City of Madison website.

Linked In is a great place to scan for jobs that openings that leave to Redstone Arsenal and Defense Contractors. Big employers like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, SAIC and Northrop Grumman hire engineers, IT specialists and support staff.

Don't rule out networking at events with Madison Chamber of Commerce, business directories or volunteering can also lead to opportunities.

Tips for Landing the Job
Tailor your resume to include keywords from the job description... many local companies use applicant tracking systems (ATS).

Network locally... meetups, coffee shops, chamber mixers and even church groups are all great networking hubs.

Consider commuting... with Huntsville so close, widening your search radius can double your opportunities and the drive won't be too bad.

Check out job fairs... Tech companies, Calhoun Community College and UAH frequently host them.

Common Questions Job Seekers Ask
Is Madison better than Huntsville for finding a job?
It depends... Madison has lots of small to mid-sized employers, while Huntsville has more large corporations. Many residents live in one city and work in the other.

Do I need a security clearance?
Not always, but a clearance opens doors to many Redstone Arsenal opportunities. If you don’t have one, look for employers willing to sponsor you.

Are remote jobs available?
Yes! Many Huntsville-based companies allow hybrid or remote work, especially in tech.

Madison is in a sweet spot... small-town charm with big-city job opportunities just down the road. Whether you’re looking for a government job, a high-tech defense role or a flexible small-business gig, Madison has options.

So here’s the question... what kind of job do you want your next chapter in Madison to be?
