Staying Healthy Outdoors

Q: What are the best outdoor spots in Madison for getting in a quick workout?
Madison has some great parks and greenways for easy, energizing workouts. Dublin Park is a top choice, with walking trails, open green space and a disc golf course.

The Bradford Creek Greenway is a favorite for walking, running or biking... it’s mostly shaded and stretches over 2 miles, perfect for clearing your mind and getting your steps in.

Q: Are there any group fitness or wellness activities held outdoors?
Yes! Madison Parks and Recreation often hosts outdoor yoga sessions and boot camps, especially in early fall when the weather cools down.

Check their Facebook page or the city’s event calendar. Also, look for pop-up classes by local studios at places like Palmer Park or Town Madison... they’re social, motivating and a great way to explore new fitness styles.

Q: What’s a simple outdoor routine I can do with minimal equipment?
Try a 30-minute bodyweight circuit in your backyard or at a park bench... 5 rounds of jumping jacks, push-ups, step-ups, squats and planks. Or go for a brisk walk with intervals... 1 minute fast, 2 minutes moderate.

Bring resistance bands for added variety or just chase the kids around the park (bonus cardio!).

Getting outside daily helps boost vitamin D, mood, and metabolism.

What Happens in the Resort… Should Come Home

You stayed at a nice place once... like real nice.

Even the bathroom made you smile.

Crisp. Clean. Quiet.

Everything hung just right. Moved just right. Felt just right.

Back home? Not so much.

The clatter. The cling. That slight whiff of regret.

It didn’t hit you until you caught yourself thinking... why doesn’t mine do that? And you finally took a picture of it to do some research.

And you made a small change. Just one.

Now every morning feels a little less “meh” and a lot more “mini-vacation.”

Because honestly, grown-up bathrooms shouldn’t make noise.

💡 Answer to Trivia Question:

A) Bermudagrass - While it’s great for lawns in Madison, it’s not meant for your plate. Unlike wheatgrass or lemongrass, it’s fibrous, tough and often treated with lawn chemicals... definitely not salad material!
