The ReLaunch Job Fair takes place Tuesday, September 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber on Church Street NW, organized alongside the Alabama Career Center, Alabama Community College System, and local nonprofits. |

Redstone Arsenal commuters could eventually get a more direct route from I-565
Huntsville has secured a $10.8 million federal grant for the first phase of Resolute Way, a planned road connecting I-565 directly to Redstone Arsenal’s Gate 9. The project is intended to improve traffic around Gate 9, Madison Boulevard and the Research Park Boulevard interchange... an area the city says handles more than 100,000 vehicles a day. That makes this worth watching for Madison residents working at Redstone, Research Park and nearby aerospace and defense employers, although the announcement does not mean congestion relief is immediate. Madison Parks & Recreation fees increase October 1
Starting October 1, Madison is raising fees for Parks & Recreation facility rentals, athletic fields and courts, memberships and recreation programs. The City Council approved the new schedule in August. Families involved in youth sports, residents with memberships and groups planning facility rentals should check the new prices before registering or booking. [Read More]
Alabama business owners get until November 2 for certain license renewals
Alabama's usual October 31 deadline for renewing state/county business privilege licenses falls on a weekend this year, so the Alabama Department of Revenue says renewals postmarked by November 2, 2026 will be considered timely. Delinquent penalties should not begin until November 3. Madison-area small-business owners who need these licenses can put the revised deadline on their calendars now. [Read More]

Bistro By Bella Momi opened in Huntsville's Lincoln Mill area in spring 2026. The restaurant focuses on Southern comfort food with a few seafood and pasta dishes mixed in. It gives this part of Huntsville a sit-down option for lunch or dinner when you are in the need for this.
The menu is like a Sunday dinner with a few surprises. Fried chicken, smothered chicken, pork chops, beef tips, Salisbury steak and catfish make up the heart of it. Mac and cheese, dressing and candied yams are some of the most popular sides on the ordering menu.
If you want to order outside the usual meat-and-two lane, look at the Seafood Boil Pasta, Tuscan Salmon or Catfish and Spaghetti. The lemon pepper catfish nuggets with okra also sound like a good starter for the table. Current menu prices put most dinner entrees around $18 to $24 with the Seafood Boil Pasta at $29.
Never been?... I would go with the fried chicken or smothered pork chop and add mac and cheese plus candied yams. Expect a casual sit-down meal with hearty portions and a full bar. Parking is available in the Lincoln Mill area.

Temperatures are going down, it's time to start planning for winter. We're gonna have to start pulling out our down duvet's, start stocking up on heating blankets and I guess hoodies. My daughter got the coolest gift for her birthday. I've never seen her so excited for clothes 😂
